How cold is COLD?  Any self respecting mountain dweller has had an experience or two in sub-zero temperatures, and likely has a gripping story as a result.  Sure, it gets down around -20 F here in Montana, and its brutal.  Even if your car did start, and you made it to the hill, how many runs did you last?

Cory Richards knows cold as only few people on earth know it.  Imagine this: living at -40 F for eight days. Now imagine climbing in Pakistan in January at 26,000 feet.  Combine these two scenarios and you start to imagine cold as Richards knows it.  Cory and his team mates, Simone Moro and Denis Urubko are making an attempt on Gasherbrum II in the heart of winter – a style of climbing some consider the only true form of alpinism – isolated, without the support of porters or other climbing parties, and very, very alone.  Shot in a run and gun style, Richards continually captures raw imagery of incredible effort, numbing pain, and survival against staggering odds.   Editor Anson Fogel weaves together a story in a way that makes it truly riveting for even non-climbers.  COLD is not to be missed, and will surely go down in alpinism history for its incredible filmmaking, and harrowing story.
